HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech Nordic Ski team returns to the races following a week hiatus, traveling back to Minnesota for the Coleraine CXC Cup over the weekend.

The event was slated to take place in Ishpeming, Michigan, at the Al Quaal Recreation Center but, due to lack of weather leading up to the event, it was moved to Mt. Itasca Winter Sports Center's Nordic ski trails.

Saturday will feature the 7.5km classic-interval start, with Sunday being the classic mass start day.

Most recently, the Huskies enjoyed some competition out west at the U.S. Nationals held in Midway, Utah.

Both Anabel Needham and Wes Campbell posted impressive performances in the four races over six days, with Campbell's efforts punching him a ticket to the World Junior Championships held in Slovenia Feb. 5-11. Additionally, Needham, whose performances at U.S. Nationals placed her as an alternate for the U23 World Ski Championships, before being elevated to the team following skiers ahead of her not electing to compete at U23's. Needham will join Campbell in Planica, Slovenia, in early February.

Campbell, a native of Park City, Utah, won the Junior Men's Skate Sprint and had a fourth-place finish in the junior 10km freestyle.

Needham, local to Houghton, Michigan, took bronze in the CCSA competition, placing 36th overall in a field of 203 skiers in the opening day U.S. Nationals and finished strong on the final day with a 16th-place finish in the Classic Sprint day.
