Michigan Tech men's tennis ended the regular season with a 6-1 road loss to Lake Superior State in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday at Arbuckle Activity Center. The Lakers collected the team doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, then took five singles matches to dash the Huskies hopes to reach postseason play.

Senior Siddhesh Mahadeshwar earned a singles win in his final match at Gates Tennis Center but Michigan Tech men's tennis fell 6-1 to Purdue Northwest Sunday in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Pride took a 1-0 lead with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, then handled the Huskies at the top of the singles lineup to drop Tech to 1-9 overall, 1-5 in conference play.

Dominating singles play on their home court, No. 11 ranked Wayne State overpowered Michigan Tech 7-0 in men's tennis Saturday in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The loss extended the Huskies' losing streak this season to eight games.

Suffering their third shutout loss of the season, Michigan Tech men's tennis fell 7-0 to Northwood University Friday afternoon in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Timberwolves swept doubles play and carried momentum into five straight-set wins in singles.

Sweeping doubles and dominant singles play lifted Grand Valley State over Michigan Tech in men's tennis 6-1 Sunday at Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness Center. For the second straight match, Andrew Freel was the lone winner for the Huskies as the team dropped to 0-6, 0-2 GLIAC. Tech is in the midst of a long road swing to start the season and is scheduled to play at Northwood next on April 8. Grand Valley State improved to 10-3 overall, 2-1 in GLIAC play.

Michigan Tech men's tennis continued its non-conference road trip through California Tuesday and fell to No. 19 Biola University 7-0. Playing outdoors at Biola Tennis Courts, the Eagles won their sixth straight while the Huskies fell to 0-4 on the season.

Andrew Freel and Nikolai Prosjankyov picked up a set in doubles, but the Huskies floundered in singles to fall 5-0 at Concordia University Irvine Monday morning at CUI Tennis Courts. The Huskies are still in search of an elusive first victory, falling to 0-3 this spring.

The Huskies combined to take just three games in doubles as the Prairie Stars seized the doubles point, then rolled to straight-set wins at singles three through six.

Michigan Tech men's tennis picked up a pair of wins in singles but ultimately fell 5-2 to Lewis University at Five Star Tennis Center Friday morning. Siddhesh Mahadeshwar and Ricardo Nunez teamed up to win 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, but the Flyers took the team doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, then picked up four singles spots.

Michigan Tech men's tennis finished up three days of singles and doubles competition in the ITA Midwest Region Tournament, hosted by Grand Valley State on Sunday. In A bracket singles, Nikolai Prosjanykov fell in round one to No. 16 seed Mario Aleksic (Maryville) 6-0, 6-2. Prosjanykov rebounded for a 6-3, 6-3 win over Frank Piana (Davenport) in consolation before going out to Leon Grundstrom (Northwood) 6-4, 6-3. Junior Vitor Jordao took No. 7 seed Dominic Spicer (Wayne State) to a first set tiebreak but lost 7-6 (2), 6-1. In consolation, Jordao downed Brendan Everhart (Quincy) but fell to Andrin Saner (Drury) in a super-tiebreak 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.

Several members of the Michigan Tech men's tennis team will compete at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament this weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan beginning Friday and ending Sunday. The event features individual player competition in singles and doubles with a seeded bracket including players from each institution in the region.
