HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech earned a CCHA split and took 4-of-6 points on the weekend with a 3-2 win over Bowling Green Saturday. Isaac Gordon scored the game-winning goal with 6:03 remaining in the third as the Huskies improved to 7-7-3 overall and 5-3-0 in the CCHA.

"I thought tonight was a really good hockey game," Tech coach Joe Shawhan said. "It was a grind and their coaching staff made a lot of adjustments before the game—and during the game—that we had to work through.

"Kash gave us a nice jump tonight. I'm really proud of him, and we're a different team with Arvid in the lineup. He's the heartbeat of our team."

The game-winner was scored after Kash Rasmussen poked the puck out to the sidewall. Tyrone Bronte took a wind up and blasted a shot that Isaac Gordon deflected in front for his team-leading ninth goal of the season.

"It was a hard forecheck, and we had kind of a mixed line out there," Gordon said. "Bronts shot it. I was looking for the rebound but it hit my stick."

The Falcons pulled their goaltender late but the Huskies blocked four shots in front of Blake Pietila, and the fifth-year goaltender only had to make one late save.

The Huskies scored the first two goals. Kash Rasmussen buried his second of the season with 4:09 left in the first. He collected a pass from Jed Pietila at the faceoff dot to the right of the goaltender and picked the top corner over the blocker for his seventh career goal. Ryland Mosley added the second assist.

Max Koskipirtti added to the lead 4:00 into the second period on a rebound for his third of the season. A shot by Lachlan Getz was saved but the goaltender couldn't hold on to the puck and Koskipirtti was there to jam it in. Ryland Mosley assisted again.

BGSU (5-11-0, 3-5-0 CCHA) tied the game in a 2:32 span in the second period. Spencer Kersten scored at 8:01 from the deep corner to get the visitors on the board.

Brett Pfoh tied the game on a goal from Breck McKinley at 10:33.

Tech led in shots 35-33. Blake Pietila made 31 saves for his sixth win of the season and 64th victory of his career. Cole Moore stopped 32 shots for the Falcons.

Both teams were 0-for-1 on the power play.

The Huskies wrap up their pre-holiday schedule next weekend against archrival Northern Michigan. The teams will meet at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena on Friday and the Berry Events Center on Saturday.

Limited reserved seats remain for Friday's game and general admission tickets are also on sale.
