Tomashek Named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

HOUGHTON, Mich. –  For the third time this season, Michigan Tech sophomore guard Marcus Tomashek has been tabbed the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Tomashek scored a game-high 34 points to help the Huskies defeat No. 24 Northern Michigan 80-69 to give the Wildcats its second conference loss of the season. The Green Bay, Wisconsin, native neared a double-double with nine defensive rebounds. He also shot 57.1 percent from the field (12-for-21) and 70 percent from beyond the arc (7-for-10). This is the GLIAC's leading scorer's fifth time scoring 30 or more points this season.

Tomashek is the lone player to earn three GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and remains atop the league with 22.1 points per outing.

The Huskies take to the road for the final time during the regular season, traveling downstate for matchups against Wayne State on Thursday and Saginaw Valley Saturday.
