HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech men's basketball team returns to the SDC Gymnasium following five-straight games on the road, welcoming Purdue Northwest on Thursday and Parkside Saturday.

All home and GLIAC games will be streamed on FloSports. With one subscription, Michigan Tech fans can watch all home and conference games in volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, and hockey. About the Pride

Purdue Northwest enters the week with an overall record of 11-10 and 5-6 in the conference. The Pride most recently split a weekend of GLIAC games, falling to Saginaw Valley on Thursday (70-64) before defeating Wayne State (72-52) on Saturday.

The Pride averages a league-leading 27.9 defensive rebounds per game, which ranks top-25 in the country. PNW is outscoring its opponents by 4.4 points, averaging 77.1 points per game.

Purdue Northwest has three players averaging double-figure scoring, led by Brendan Temple, who posts 14 points a game, shooting a league-leading 58.9 percent from the field. CJ Jackson (13.7) and Kalil Whitehead (10.9) join Temple. 

Dalton Gayman leads the Pride with six rebounds per outing. 

The Huskies fell to the Pride 79-70 in their first meeting of the season.

About the Rangers

Parkside is 11-10 overall and 6-5 in the GLIAC. The Rangers completed a weekend sweep with wins over Wayne State (89-81) Thursday and Saginaw Valley (83-75) Saturday. Colin O'Rourke earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, hitting the 1,000 point milestone and scored a career-high 27 points in the win over the Cardinals.

O'Rourke leads Parkside with 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per outing. Josiah Palmer (14.7) and Nick Brown (10.1) join O'Rourke in double-figure scoring per game.

Palmer also chips in five assists per game, ranking first in the GLIAC and 32nd in the country. 

The Rangers are ranked first in the league, averaging over 25 3-point attempts while making just under 10 per game.

Defensively, UWP holds opponents to 67.2 points, which is second in the league and top-30 in the nation.

The Huskies defeated Parkside in their first meeting of the season 78-71.

About the Huskies 

Michigan Tech returns home for the first time in five games with a record of 6-14 overall and 3-8 in the loop. The Huskies are coming off a weekend where they were swept by Lake Superior State (82-71) Thursday and No. 20 Ferris State (79-63) Saturday.

The Huskies continue to have one of the top-scorers in Division II, with Marcus Tomashek averaging 21.8 points to lead the league and rank 12th in the country. 

Michigan Tech saw back-to-back games of double-figure scoring from Nate Abel, who scored 14 points on Thursday and 12 Saturday. Dawson Nordgaard had a team-leading 17 points and Peyton LaCombe had a career-high 10 in Thursday's loss to the Lakers.

Nordgaard averages over two offensive rebounds per game, while Pete Calcaterra averages a team-leading 6.8 boards.

The Black & Gold are averaging over 70 points while making over 13 free-throws per game.

One Last Thing

February 17 will serve as the Alumni Game with a Hoop Zone Social providing snacks and drinks from 12:30 to 4:30 for all alumni and family. The men alumni will be introduced between the first and second quarter of the women's game on Tech's baseline, while the women alumni will be recognized during the second media break in the first half of the men's game on Tech's baseline.
