About the Huskies

Michigan Tech bounced back from a loss against Kentucky Wesleyan (69-53) on Sunday (Dec. 17) with a win over No. 24 nationally-ranked Winona State 73-72 on Tuesday (Dec. 19) to move to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in the GLIAC.

Before Tuesday's win, Michigan Tech was 0-3 in games decided by three points or less.

In the win over the Warriors, the Huskies shot a season-high 31 free-throws, going 24-of-31, with sophomore guard Marcus Tomashek going 8-of-9 from the charity stripe in the final 1:37 to finish with 30 points–his third time scoring 30 or more points this season.

Dan Gherezgher started the last two games following a four-game hiatus, playing a season-high 33 minutes, finishing with 13 points and five rebounds.

The Huskies also got nine points from Adam Hobson off the bench in the latter stages of the second half to keep the game close. He shot 4-of-6 from the field while chipping in two rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

Through 10 games, Michigan Tech is averaging 73.7 points per outing, making over eight 3-pointers and 16 free-throws a game.
