Huskies announce basketball reunion events

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech men's and women's basketball cordially invites all of its alumni and families back to campus to be a part of their reunion celebration the weekend of August 3-5, 2023.

On Saturday, August 5, the Huskies host an alumni basketball pregame social/watch party in the SDC Gymnasium hoop zone at 12:30 p.m. Cash bars will be available.

Michigan Tech will then host alumni basketball games at 1 p.m. with women's alumni up first, followed by the men's program.

Michigan Tech men's basketball officially began in 1919-20 with the women's squad playing its inaugural season in 1975-76. The Husky men are guided by head coach Josh Buettner, who has been on the staff for each of the past 15 years and played for MTU until 2005. 

Sam Clayton is head coach of women's basketball, since taking over in early 2018. Clayton was also a prolific student-athlete at Tech, leading the Huskies to an appearance in the Division II National Championship game in 2010-11.
