2022 GLIAC Football Media Day Set for July 25

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that GLIAC Football Media Day 2022 will take place on Monday, July 25 in Detroit, Michigan. Wayne State University hosts the event, which includes a reveal of the football preseason coaches' poll, provides exclusive coverage, and features interviews and analysis of all eight teams.

Sports analyst Emory Hunt will bring fans the latest insight, breakdowns, and who to watch this upcoming season, beginning at 10 a.m. (ET) on the GLIAC's YouTube channel.

10:00 a.m.: Commissioner Kris Dunbar Comments

10:05 a.m.: Hype Video & Preseason Coaches Poll Announced

10:15 a.m.: Davenport 

10:25 a.m.: Ferris State

10:35 a.m.: Grand Valley State

10:45 a.m.: Michigan Tech

10:55 a.m.: Northern Michigan

11:05 a.m.: Saginaw Valley State

11:15 a.m.: Wayne State

Local media will have access to the teams throughout the day, but please note that coaches and athletes may be pulled from informal interviews with media in order to fulfill Webcast/GLIAC Media obligations. There is also a Youth Football Camp at Tom Adams Field from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and an autograph session with featured players at 2:30 p.m.

Michigan Tech will be represented in the motor city by head coach Steve Olson along with All-America senior center Hayden Huttula (Hartland, Michigan), and senior defensive back Braxton Blackwell (South Lyon, Michigan). The Huskies finished 5-2 in the GLIAC last fall and took third place.

MTU begins its 2022 campaign September 1 at Kearly Stadium against University of Wisconsin-Platteville at 6 p.m. ET.
