Apex: Legends

The royale battlers have returned with a dominant first-place finish in the Octane Collegiate season opener last Saturday. Team captain Griffin Wick "TheGr33nB3an" put 26 kills on the board across the six matches. We'll see action from Husky Apex every Saturday through April 15 as they battle through this tournament!

Friday, Tech failed to qualify for the final round of the Community Gaming March Tournament after placing a respectable ninth in its group. The top five qualified for the final round.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Husky Counter-Strike dropped 3 rounds to Ferris for a 32-3 series Friday.

Tech is currently 5-0 in NACE Starleague Varsity heading into its game against 4-1 Kansas State on Friday. The winner of this match is guaranteed the first seed heading into the conference championship next week.

Rocket League

The B team's doubleheader Monday saw success with a 3-0 victory over Lawrence Tech, then failure with a 3-0 loss to St. Xavier.

This brings the JV squad to a 3-2 record heading into the final two matches of the regular season Monday night against first Oklahoma Christian then the Rochester Institute of Technology.

To start, the varsity squad wrapped up a perfect 7-0 regular season in NSL Varsity Premier with back to back 3-0 sweeps over James Madison and Northeastern on Monday.

Then, the Huskies took the top spot in the CRL NACE Last Chance Qualifier, qualifier with a 4-3 nail biter over King. Then, a 4-2 win over Davenport. This qualifies Tech to face 47 other teams in the Collegiate Rocket League World Tournament.

Saturday, Tech secured third in the second Great Lakes Collegiate Rocket League Minor alongside St. Clair after falling 4-0 to Grand Valley State. Tech first lost to Oakland 3-2 but rallied through the group with a 3-0 victory over Purdue and a 3-2 victory over Western Michigan. The playoffs started well. Tech took down Michigan 3-1, but was unable to overcome GVSU. The Huskies could not repeat their first GLCRL Minor victory.

This performance qualifies Tech for the LAN GLCRL finals at Cleary in Howell, Michigan on April 8.

This weekend Tech faces the winner of Northeastern versus Lackawanna in the East 9 Conference Championship. Then, the Huskies face off against the GVSU JV team in the first round of the GLCRL Spring Major.

Don't miss the action starting Monday night at 7 pm on MTU Esport's Twitch!

League of Legends

The Huskies defeated Truman State 2-0 for their NACE Starleague Varsity Premier season opener last Thursday.

This week, Tech faces Mizzou Tuesday and Ozarks Technical College Thursday.

Overwatch 2

Tech Overwatch swept Radford 3-0 Tuesday. Max Kinlin "sky" mitigated 10,371 damage as Winston on Dorado.

Wednesday, Maryland beat the Huskies 3-1. Ending Tech's NACE season with two wins and five losses.

Thursday, the Huskies dominated the Midwest Madness qualifiers with back-to-back 2-0 wins over Kentucky and Bowling Green. However, Tech was unable to travel due to the blizzard Friday and missed the final event.

Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate

Aquinas College forfeited the match Thursday. Tech ended its regular season with five wins and one loss.

First, Tech is facing off against Davenport University in the Conference Play-In. The winner of that game faces off against Shawnee State in the East 6 Conference Championship and a spot in the national playoff tournament. Both matches are subject to potential rescheduling.

Valorant

Tech Valorant defeated Culver-Stockton last Wednesday 2-1. This brings the Huskies' regular season record to three wins and four losses in NACE Starleague Varsity Premier.

Over the weekend, the Huskies did not qualify for the cVal spring tournament after losing to St Clair, Ontario Tech, and Briar Cliff 2-0 respectively. Tech did manage a win over Minnesota and still has one more group-stage match against Bethany. However, a 3-2 record is very unlikely to advance MTU to the next stage of the tournament.
