Paul E. Butkovich
Inducted October 20, 1990

If you go back and look at the forces behind the campaign to save Michigan Tech football, Paul Butkovich is one name that comes to the forefront.

It is his continuous support of the MTU athletic program through the years, however, that distinguishes him.

Butkovich was a four-year letterwinner (1963-67) in football at MTU and his freshman season he led the team in scoring and was the thrid leading scorer in the state of Michigan.

His leadership role in school was evident as he served as president of the Varsity Club and was also named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

His post-athletic contributions are vast. In 1980, he brought the Green Bay Packers bastketball team to Michigan Tech for a fund raiser. The past 10 years Butkovich has cohosted an annual golf fundraiser in Green Bay for the benefit of MTU athletics and he has also served on the Board of Directors for the MTU Alumni Association.
