Kristen Crouch (Brown)
Inducted October 30, 2004

Dr. Kristen Crouch (married name Brown) has one of the most storied resumes of any student-athlete to ever compete at Michigan Tech. She completed her pre-med degree in just three years with a perfect 4.00 grade point average and at the same time competed in three different varsity sports.

In cross country, she was MTU’s first-ever All-American (1993). She won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 1992; was a three-time All-GLIAC performer; won the Great Lakes Regional in 1993; and was the team’s Most Valuable Runner all three years. While she only played women’s basketball during the 1990-91 season, she was part of the school’s first-ever GLIAC title team. Her accomplishments in track and field are impressive as well as she was a three-time All-GLIAC performer and her last two seasons earned the Rex Benoit Award as the team’s most valuable athlete.

Crouch earned two prestigious honors in 1993, including the NCAA Division II Woman of the Year Award and the Raymond L. Smith Award as the top senior female student-athlete at Michigan Tech.

Kristen continued her education at Michigan State College of Human Medicine and is currently a Family Medicine Physician at Mercy Health.
