Michigan Tech Athletic Training

For Michigan Tech Student-Athletes

Athletic Training Student Aide (ATSA) Program

Michigan Technological University offers practical experience to students interested in health care fields. Student Aides work under the direct supervision of Certified Athletic Trainers, and alongside Team Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Physical Therapists to provide general health care to all varsity athletic teams at Michigan Technological University. Athletic Trainers are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Students in the Athletic Training Student Aide Program will have the opportunity to observe and be involved in all aspects of the sports medicine coverage at Michigan Tech. They may assist with taping, pre/post-practice treatments, therapeutic exercise programs, practice/event coverage, first aid and many other team needs.
