The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its 2019 Division II All-Academic Teams, and the Michigan Tech cross country team both earned spots on the men’s and women’s lists. In addition, 11 individual Michigan Tech student-athletes received All-Academic honors.
A total of 116 Michigan Tech student-athletes earned recognition from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for academics as the league announced its Fall Academic Excellence Awards and All-Academics Teams.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Michigan Tech head coach Jake Isaacson the Midwest Region Men’s Coach of the Year. It’s the second time Isaacson has received a Midwest Region Coach of the Year award from the USTFCCCA, after being named the Women’s Coach of the Year in 2018.
For the first time in Michigan Tech cross country history, the men’s and women’s teams have qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships. With second-place team finishes at the 2019 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships, the men’s and women’s teams will both be headed to the National Championships in Sacramento, California.
After two weeks of preparation and training, the Michigan Tech cross country team is heading for Evansville, Indiana for the 2019 NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championship on Saturday (Nov. 9). The race, hosted by the University of Southern Indiana, will be held at Angel Mounds Golf Course, with the women running the 6K race at 10:30 a.m. CST, followed by the men’s 10K race at 11:45 a.m. CST.

Following solid team performances at the 2019 GLIAC Championships, the Michigan Tech cross country teams received high rankings in this week’s National and Regional Coaches Polls, released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Six Michigan Tech cross country runners picked up All-GLIAC honors from the Purdue Northwest University Westville campus at the 2019 GLIAC Championships on Saturday (Oct. 26). The Huskies finished second in the men’s competition and third in the women’s race.
Championship season has officially begun for the Michigan Tech cross country team, as the Huskies head to Westville, Indiana to compete in the 2019 GLIAC Championships. The women will run first in the 6K at 11 a.m. CST, followed by the men in the 8K race at 11:45 a.m. CST.

The race, hosted by Northern Michigan at the NMU Golf Course, will begin at 3 p.m. with the women’s 5K race, followed by the 8K men’s race at 3:45 p.m.
