Michigan Tech Men's Cross Country Ranked No. 17 in the nation

HOUGHTON, Mich. - Michigan Tech men's cross country was ranked No. 17 in Wednesday's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCAAA) Division II National Rankings Poll. The Huskies also finished No. 4 in the Midwest Region. Wednesday marked the fourth time the Huskies have been Nationally ranked this fall and their highest position on the list to date. Michigan Tech is up eight positions from No. 25 on October 27.

The Huskies finished fourth at the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championships last weekend. Junior Clayton Sayen was Tech's top finisher with an 11th place 10K time of 30:44.6. Sayen was named All-Region and the Michigan Tech men's cross country team was announced on November 8 as an at-large team qualifier for the NCAA Division II Championships in Saint Leo, Florida. Saint Leo University and Tampa Bay Sports Commission will serve as hosts on November 20 with the race set to begin at 9:45 a.m. EST.

Michigan Tech men's cross country has qualified for the National Championships in 2019-20 and 2021-22. 

Fellow GLIAC school Grand Valley State finished first in the Midwest Region, followed by Lewis, Walsh, Michigan Tech, and Southern Indiana.
