TIFFIN, Ohio – With just five players available, Michigan Tech women's tennis dropped a 7-0 decision Wednesday to Tiffin University at Lakewood Tennis Club. The Dragons started by taking the team doubles point. Lauren Opalewski and Dominika Bobik picked up a 7-6 (11) victory in a long tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles but Neva Manas and Mirna Golac fell 6-3 at No. 4 and the Dragons took the No. 2 spot by default.

Singles was less friendly to the Huskies. Bobik fell 2-0 def. at No. 1 and Opalewski lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Manas managed two games at No.3 (6-1, 6-1) and Marina Fernandez lost 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. Golac was last to finish at No. 5, falling in a close two sets 6-4, 6-4.

"The women's team wasn't feeling their best today," said head coach Kristin Yep. "We suffered an injury in doubles and playing short-handed definitely hurt our chances. At the same time, I give credit to Tiffin for playing a strong match against us."

Michigan Tech (0-3) continues its road swing at Findlay (3-1) Friday, March 12 at YMCA East.
