HOUGHTON, Mich. – Three games remain for the Michigan Tech women's soccer team as they travel to face Parkside and Purdue Northwest for a spot in the 2019 GLIAC Tournament. The Huskies will take on Parkside on Friday (Nov. 1) at noon before heading to Purdue Northwest on Sunday (Nov. 3) for another noon contest.

In the final stretch of the regular season, the Huskies sit at 3-9-1 overall and 0-6 in the GLIAC following a 4-1 loss to No. 14 Ashland and a 2-1 overtime defeat to Saginaw Valley State this past weekend, concluding the home schedule for the Huskies. Sophomore Gabby Sgambati scored the lone goal for Tech against Ashland, while junior Jesse Jacobusse put one in the net to send the game to overtime against Saginaw Valley State.

Sgambati will look to continue her fine sophomore season, as she leads the team in scoring with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Sophomore Grace Shaw has also been a threat to put points on the board this season with four goals and three assists, while Jacobusse has produced eight points on three goals and two assists. In goal, the Huskies have been rotating between junior Amanda Young and freshman Gracie VanLangevelde. Young has made 32 saves in eight starts this season, while VanLangevelde has posted 25 saves in five starts.

Parkside (5-9-1, 0-5-1 GLIAC) has lost six of the last seven games since beating Michigan Tech 2-1 on September 29, and they currently sit seventh in the GLIAC standings. The Rangers are led by Delaney Benich, who scored both of Parkside's goals against the Huskies, with four goals for eight points. Alexis Baker has also been a threat to provide points for the Rangers with 10 on four goals and two assists. Adrianna Bratel looks to be the starter for the Rangers on Friday, with nine 61 saves and a .772 save percentage in nine starts. Bratel faced 12 shots and stopped 11 in the team's win over Tech back in September.

Purdue Northwest (2-11-1, 0-6 GLIAC) currently sits at the bottom of the conference standings despite winning a non-conference match against Parkside on Sunday. The Huskies set a record for the most goals scored in a single game as they defeated the Pride 6-0 in the home-opener on September 27. Sydney Hansen has been the leading scorer for the Pride, tallying two goals in 11 starts, while five players have scored one goal each in 2019. Leonie Heck is projected to start in goal for Purdue Northwest, with 43 saves in nine starts this year. Heck made 11 stops against MTU in the previous meeting on September 27.

Both matches are slated to begin at noon Eastern time/11 a.m. Central time. The links to live stats and a live video broadcast are included at the top of the page.
