THIS WEEK'S NOTES

STAT OF THE WEEK
2.0 • Tech's assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranks No. 1 in the country. The Huskies led the country in that category a year ago as well, finishing at 1.4.

BLAKE ALL-TOURNAMENT IN ST. PAUL
Danielle Blake averaged 16 points and 8.5 rebounds in the two games at the Radisson Hotel Minneapolis St. Paul Classic hosted by Concordia last weekend. The senior forward recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals in an 85-62 win over Minnesota Crookston Friday (Nov. 20). She added 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the 86-77 loss to Concordia Saturday (Nov. 21).  Blake ranks among the top five in the GLIAC in rebounds, assists, blocks and field goal percentage.

MOXLEY LEADING SCORER
Through three games, post player Kylie Moxley is Tech's leading scorer at 14.7 points per game. The senior from Brillion, Wis., has scored at least six field goals in every game and is coming off a season-high 19 points vs. Concordia St. Paul. Moxley, who battled injuries as a junior last season, averaged 4.3 points per contest. She has 663 career points and a career average of 8.7.

4TH NISC OPPONENT
Saturday's (Nov. 28) game against Minnesota State will be Michigan Tech's fourth straight against a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Since the start of last season, the Huskies have played only NSIC teams in regular season non-conference games.

STARTING FIVE SCORERS
In only three games, all five Michigan Tech starters have season-high point totals of at least 16. Brenna Heise has the only 20-point game of the bunch with a 20-point effort vs. Minnesota Crookston Nov. 20. Tech has six players on the roster who have at least one 20-point game in their careers.

GARDNER MATCHES CAREER HIGH
Senior Kerry Gardner drained a career-high five 3-pointers vs. Concordia-St. Paul to match her career high of 15 points. The guard from Middleton, Wis., came off the bench to bury four triples in the first half and another in the second. Her previous 15-point outing came as a sophomore vs. UW-Parkside on Dec. 21, 2013.

SERIES VS. MINNESOTA STATE
Michigan Tech and Minnesota State will square off for the eighth time in the series between the teams. The Mavericks own a 4-3 edge, but it was the Huskies who gained a 70-61 triumph in Houghton a year ago (Nov. 29, 2014). These teams met in the NCAA Elite Eight in 2009, with MSU gaining a 61-53 win en route to the national title.

NO. 16 IN PRESEASON POLLS
Michigan Tech appears in the USA TODAY/WBCA Division II poll for the 16th consecutive time with a No. 16 ranking this week. The Huskies entered the poll in Dec. of last season and have remained among the nation's top 25 ever since including a No. 8 ranking in the 2015-16 preseason.

THE PROGRAM
Since the start of 1988-89, the Michigan Tech women's basketball program has put together 27 consecutive winning seasons, 18 20-win seasons, 13 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships, four NCAA Regional titles and three 30-win campaigns. The Huskies entered the 2015-16 season with an all-time record of 712-402 (.639).

COACH CAMERON
Kim Cameron, in her sixth year as Tech's head coach, has put together a 121-32 (.791) career record. She is the first Division II head coach in Tech history to lead a team to a national title game appearance (2011) and was the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2015 and Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2011. Cameron-coached teams have claimed three GLIAC North Division titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times—twice as the top seed of the Midwest Regional.

NEXT UP
Tech opens GLIAC play next week with a pair of home games. The Huskies host Malone at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 3) and Walsh at 1 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 5).
