Lange Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – For the third-straight year, Michigan Tech track & field will be represented at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, taking place in Emporia, Kansas, from May 23-25 as Sam Lange has made the qualifying list in the 1,500m announced on Tuesday evening.

This marks Lange's first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, yet the second 1,500m runner from Michigan Tech to compete in the men's metric mile at the championships meet. Clayton Sayen made the National meet in 2022 and 2023, advancing to the 1,500m finals in 2022.

Lange, a native of Washington, Illinois, lowered his personal-best in the 1,500m at the Lee Last Chance Meet on May 11, clocking 3:45.01, taking over a second off of his best time set at the St. Francis Fighting Chance in May of 2023 to take fourth in the race and earn a spot at the national meet.
