HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech Nordic ski teams begin their championship season this weekend in Duluth for the CCSA Championships hosted by the College of St. Scholastica. The Huskies will race at the Grand Avenue Nordic Center for the first time.

Saturday will be the class races with the women going 5K at 11 a.m. and the men 10K at 12:30 p.m. Sunday will be the freestyle events with the men racing 20K at 10:30 a.m. followed by the women's 15K at 12:30 p.m. All four races will be interval starts.

"One exciting thing about this weekend is that we've never competed at this venue before," coach Tom Monahan Smith said. "It's nice to go to venues we're familiar with because you know how the course skis and you know how to plan your strategy and tactics to get the best results, but it's going to be fun to create an environment we haven't been familiar with. We'll still get to know the course on our pre-race day."

Superior Timing will be providing results.
