Senior Nordic skier Amanda Kautzer of Michigan Technological University has been named as the 2019-20 Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for the NCAA Division II, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Nordic Ski Team opens BSN Team Store

The Michigan Tech Nordic ski teams have opened a BSN Team Store that closes on August 3. Proceeds of each purchase will go towards the Huskies. Eight Nike items are available in a variety of sizes.
Kautzer Named CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-American of the Year

Michigan Tech Nordic skier Amanda Kautzer has been named the CoSIDA Academic All-America® At-Large Team Member of the Year to become a two-time Academic All-American. Kautzer is a senior from Plymouth, Minnesota, and held a 4.0 grade-point average in biomedical engineering.

Michigan Tech Nordic skier Amanda Kautzer has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large First Team for the second straight year. Kautzer is senior from Plymouth, Minnesota, and held a 4.0 grade-point average in biomedical engineering. She now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
Kautzer earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Amanda Kautzer of the Michigan Tech Nordic ski team is a winter sport recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Kautzer will receive a $10,000 scholarship to be applied toward the graduate degree program of her choice.
Nordic ski team announces 2020-21 incoming class

Michigan Tech Nordic ski coaches Tom and Kristen Monahan Smith are adding three women and two men to the Huskies for the 2020-21 season. The incoming class is represented by student-athletes from Wisconsin, Utah, Sweden, Minnesota, and Finland.
Kautzer receives GLIAC Pat Riepma Postgraduate Scholarship

Michigan Tech cross country runner Amanda Kautzer has received the GLIAC Pat Riepma Postgraduate Scholarship. The honor awards each recipient $5,000 in aid to the graduate school of their choice. Selections were made by the Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs) of the GLIAC member institutions.

The Michigan Tech Nordic ski team had 14 Huskies named to the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA) All-Academic Team. Tech's 14 honorees tied for the most in the country amongst Nordic programs.

Michigan Tech Nordic ski coach Tom Monahan Smith recognized eight Huskies with annual team awards. Sarah Goble and Reid Goble received the Most Outstanding Skier Award. Monahan Smith and his staff were also named the Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year on the women's side.
NCAA Cancels Remaining Winter and Spring Championships

The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced Thursday that it is cancelling the remaining winter and spring championships, including the NCAA Skiing Championships and NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional tournament that Michigan Tech was scheduled to participate in this week, due to concerns over the COVID-19 health situation.

The Michigan Tech Nordic skiing teams wrapped up their 2019-20 season at the NCAA Championships on Thursday (March 12). Sarah Goble had an All-America performance in the 5-kilometer skate after finishing seventh with a time of 14:11.7.
Kautzer wins Elite 90 Award for NCAA Skiing Championships

Michigan Tech's Amanda Kautzer is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2020 NCAA Skiing Championships. Kautzer, a senior from Plymouth, Minnesota, holds a 4.0 grade-point average in biomedical engineering. She received the award Tuesday evening at NCAA Championship Banquet on the campus of Montana State University-Bozeman.

The Michigan Tech Nordic ski team is in Bozeman, Montana this week for the 2020 NCAA Skiing Championships. The Huskies sent a full squad for the first time in school history and will compete in the freestyle race Thursday and classic race Saturday.
