Ferris State Hands Tech 6-1 Loss

HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Huskies came up short in men's tennis Saturday afternoon and lost 6-1 to undefeated Ferris State at Gates Tennis Center in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. The Huskies (0-11, 0-6 GLIAC) remained winless on the season, while the Bulldogs clinched their fifth GLIAC regular season championship in six years in Houghton. Ferris State (13-0, 8-0 GLIAC) surrendered just three total games to sweep doubles, then earned wins singles positions 1-5. Nico Caviglia provided a bright spot for Michigan Tech with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles over Andrew Swirzek. Ricardo Nunez fell 6-1, 6-1 to Yannic Mader at No. 1 singles.

The Huskies will conclude the regular season Monday when they host Lake Superior State at 2 p.m. EST.
