Huskies drop 6-1 decision to Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. - Michigan Tech men's tennis suffered their eighth straight defeat 6-1 to Northwood Saturday at Greater Midland Tennis Center. The Timberwolves took the team doubles points with straight forward wins at No. 1 and No. 2, then notched victories over the Huskies in singles 1-5. Nico Caviglia earned the lone Tech point with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles over Northwood's Chad Barton. Michigan Tech fell to 0-8 (0-4 GLIAC while the Timberwolves improved to 3-11 (2-3 GLIAC).

"Today was a tough day for us," commented head coach Kristin Yep. "Northwood came out with more fire and energy and in the end it helped push them through. We need to continue working hard and improving so we can achieve better results."

The Huskies have four regular season matches left in the spring and have not yet played at home. Tech will play Wayne State in a make-up from an early April postponement in Midland Sunday before returning to Houghton next week for a pair of conference bouts at Gates Tennis Center.
