HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Michigan Tech men's tennis team fell to West Liberty 5-2 Thursday in match four of the Spring Tennis Fest tournament held in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Huskies are 1-3 through four matches in 2020.

"I think today was tough for both teams," Michigan Tech Head Coach Kristin Yep said. "Focusing is becoming increasingly difficult with all the unprecedented things happening with the Coronavirus. Hopefully we will have one more match tomorrow to close out the trip."

Vitor Jordao and Nico Caviglia notched a doubles win for Michigan Tech when the duo topped Florent Dulac and Joris Gravoulet 6-4 in the No. 1 spot. Siddhesh Mahadeshwar and Andrew Freel lost a hard-fought battle to Giani Gerndt and Akira Kawabata 7-6 in No. 2 doubles while Artem Sharkota and Ignacio Carbajosa fell to Anton Schulz and Zarion Jones in the No. 3 position 6-3.

Unfortunately, Gerndt pulled out a 10-8 win in the third set Thursday.
