HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech faced one of the top teams in the GLIAC and region today in Ferris State, falling to the Bulldogs 9-0 at Gates Tennis Center.

Tech was swept in doubles with no Huskies team earning more than three games in their pro set. The Huskies responded with stronger play in singles but couldn't take a match.

Javier Oliveros had the best opportunity at No. 1, where he won the first set 6-4, lost the second 6-2 and fell 10-6 in a third set super tiebreaker. Built Yumuang was one service break away in both sets of a 7-5, 6-4 loss at No. 3. Robin Duhnsen (6-4, 6-3 at No. 2) and Nick Kremkow (6-3, 6-4 at No. 4) were also right in the thick of things in their matches.

"It was the best we've played all year long," said Tech coach Kevin Kalinec. "We worked on several things in practice this week and did a great job putting them into play. Unfortunately, we were facing Ferris, which I think is one of the best GLIAC teams I've seen since I became coach."

Michigan Tech will wrap up a four-match home stand and play its home finale tomorrow (Mar. 29) at 10 a.m. vs. Grand Valley State.
