    Michigan Tech goaltender Matt Jurusik has been named to the All-WCHA Third Team the league announced on Monday (March 16). The Huskies also led the league with 20 student-athletes named to the WCHA All-Academic Team.

    The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced Thursday that it is cancelling the remaining winter and spring championships, including the NCAA Skiing Championships and NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional tournament that Michigan Tech was scheduled to participate in this week, due to concerns over the COVID-19 health situation.

    Michigan Tech’s Tommy Parrottino, Matt Jurusik, and Logan Pietila have been named WCHA Players of the Week after the Huskies swept Northern Michigan in the first round of the WCHA Playoffs. The Huskies won 4-1 Friday and 4-3 in triple overtime Saturday to advance to the WCHA Semifinals at top seed Minnesota State.

    Logan Pietila scored 4:41 into the third overtime to end Michigan Tech's second-longest game in program history and sweep Northern Michigan in the first round of the WCHA Playoffs on Saturday. The Huskies went 4-0 at the Berry Events Center in 2019-20 and ended NMU's season on its home ice for the second time in three years.
