HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech hockey hosted its annual Spring Carnival at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena last night with a good turnout of kids and families. There were roughly 250 in attendance to experience the free food, games, door prizes and interaction with Huskies coaches and players.

"I want to thank the community for coming out and for continuing to support our program," said Tech coach Mel Pearson. "This is the second year we've done this event, and with its success, we'll look forward to making it an annual tradition."

The event was 100 percent free with hot dogs, french fries, pop and candy. There was a bounce house, opportunities to shoot on Tech goaltenders, video games on the big video board and face painting.

Eight individuals went home with a nice door prize. The winners were:
Danica Ryynanen — $50 Gift Card to University Images
Nick Aho — $50 Gift Card to University Images
Addison Pizzi — Autographed Hockey Stick
Trey Kinnunen — Autographed Hockey Stick
Monica Markham — Youth Reserved Season Ticket to Michigan Tech Hockey
Garrison Pietila — Youth Reserved Season Ticket to Michigan Tech Hockey
Kelley Walrath — One Week of Hockey School
