The Michigan Tech hockey team named its 2014-15 award winners at a recent team meeting. Tanner Kero added to his impressive list of postseason accolades with the Merv Youngs Award for team MVP as well as three other team awards.

Michigan Tech's Tanner Kero was named a CCM All-American on Friday (March 10) as the American Hockey Coaches Association named its top 24 college hockey players at the Frozen Four. Kero was selected to the West First Team and is the first Husky since Jamie Ram in 1994 to be named a first team All-American.

Michigan Tech’s Tanner Kero was named a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-American on Thursday (April 9). The forward wrapped up his four-year career with the Huskies in 2014-15 and recently signed with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks.

Michigan Tech’s Mel Pearson has been named the 2014-15 College Hockey News Coach of the Year. In his fourth season at his alma mater, Pearson led the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 34 years.

The No. 5-ranked Michigan Tech hockey team had its season come to an end with a 3-2 OT loss to No. 13 St. Cloud State in the first round of the NCAA West Regional from Scheels Arena on Friday. Tech finished the 2014-15 season with a 29-10-2 record.
