White named to BCAM College Academic-Athletic Team

HOUGHTON, Mich. - Michigan Tech senior Owen White (Rhinelander, Wisconsin) was named to the 2021-22 Men's College Academic-Athletic Team by Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) this week. Also named to the team were Justin Fischer (Lake Superior State), Dorian Aluyi (Ferris State), Cole Kleiver (Alma College), and Evan Thomas (Hope College). 

White averaged 17.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Huskies and was GLIAC Player of the Year for the second straight season. He also was First Team NABC All-Region for the second time and led Michigan Tech to a regular season conference championship. He has been a member of SAAC, team captain, and leader of athletic bible study on campus with a 3.82 grade point average in Mechanical Engineering.

BCAM member coaches submit nominations for awards during the nomination period. BCAM was established in the summer of 1876 and exists for the betterment of basketball in the state of Michigan, representing basketball coaches from junior high up to the collegiate level.
