HOUGHTON, Mich. - Michigan Tech men's basketball has announced combo guard Dan Gherezgher (Brookfield, Wisconsin) has signed a national letter of intent to join the Huskies for the 2022-23 season. Gherezgher, a 6-foot-3-inch senior averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and 2.5 assists for the Brookfield East Spartans this winter.

He was selected first-team all-greater metro conference and ranked inside the GMC Top 25 for the state of Wisconsin.

"We believe the sky is the limit for Dan," said Michigan Tech head coach Josh Buettner. "I couldn't be more excited to have him join our talented recruiting class. He is a tremendous player and person."

Last season, Gherezgher averaged 14.2 points and 3.4 rebounds as a junior. He helped his team to a 19-5 record. He also played AAU basketball with JH1 Elite. He intends to study Engineering Management at Michigan Tech.

"I chose Michigan Tech because it is a great academic school with a winning reputation in basketball and coaches who care about their players," Gherezgher said.

Gherezgher will be in good company as the current team roster already features eight players from the state of Wisconsin.

Gherezgher is the fifth 2022-23 recruit signing for coach Buettner and assistant coach Ben Stelzer this off-season. Others include Drew Barrie (Midland, Michigan), Peyton LaCombe (Ludington, Michigan), Josh Terrian (Pewaukee, Wisconsin), and Marcus Tomashek (Green Bay, Wisconsin). Tomashek recently broke former Husky All-American Kyle Monroe's high school scoring record with 46 points in a game for Ashwaubenon High School. Monroe was in attendance.

The Huskies graduated six seniors in 2021-22 after winning a share of the GLIAC Regular Season Championship for the second straight season.
