Michigan Tech men’s basketball has received the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, announced by the organization Tuesday morning. Teams must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2021-22 season to be eligible. The Huskies held a 3.52 team GPA.

Michigan Tech men's basketball announced its 2022-23 regular season schedule on Wednesday (July 6). The Huskies feature a full slate of contests in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and will bring in 13 opponents to SDC Gymnasium in Houghton.

Michigan Tech senior Owen White (Rhinelander, Wisconsin) was named to the 2021-22 Men's College Academic-Athletic Team by Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) this week. Also named to the team were Justin Fischer (Lake Superior State), Dorian Aluyi (Ferris State), Cole Kleiver (Alma College), and Evan Thomas (Hope College).

Michigan Tech's Owen White has been named a recipient of the 2021-22 Winter GLIAC Commissioner's Award the conference announced on Thursday. The awards are presented after the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and in competition.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams for the winter semester on Wednesday. A total of 25 Huskies earned recognition with 22 on the All-Academic Excellence Team.

Michigan Tech men's basketball senior guard/forward Owen White (Rhinelander, Wisconsin) was named 2022 First Team Midwest All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Monday morning.

Michigan Tech men's basketball has announced combo guard Dan Gherezgher (Brookfield, Wisconsin) has signed a national letter of intent to join the Huskies for the 2022-23 season. Gherezgher, a 6-foot-3-inch senior averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and 2.5 assists for the Brookfield East Spartans this winter.

Michigan Tech men's basketball fell in the GLIAC semifinals 78-71 Saturday afternoon at SDC Gymnasium in front of 840 fans. Senior Owen White scored 30 points and Trent Bell marked a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but Max Bjorklund helped the Wildcats advance to the Championship with 35 points.

Several Michigan Tech men's basketball players, along with Head Coach Josh Buettner have been recognized by the conference this week for All-Conference Awards. Senior guard Owen White was named GLIAC Player of the Year, First Team All-GLIAC, and GLIAC All-Defensive Team. Senior forward Trent Bell also earned All-GLIAC First Team and All-GLIAC Defensive Team. Senior guard Carter Johnston was also included on the GLIAC All-Defensive Team. Head Coach Josh Buettner is the 2021-22 GLIAC Coach of the Year.

No. 2 seed Michigan Tech men’s basketball (21-6, 17-4) hosts No. 3 seed Northern Michigan (17-11, 12-8) in the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament Saturday, March 5 at 12 p.m. at SDC Gymnasium. Northern State defeated Lake Superior State on Wednesday. The Huskies won a share of the GLIAC regular season championship, matching records with Ferris State, and posted 20 wins for the ninth time in program history.

Owen White tallied 20 points and Trent Bell notched a double-double to help No. 2 seed Michigan Tech to a 66-53 home win over No. 7 seed Wisconsin Parkside in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday night at SDC Gymnasium. The Huskies trailed 32-30 at halftime but went on a 13-2 run at the midway point of the second half to pull away from the Rangers and improve to 21-6 overall (16-4 GLIAC) this season.
