Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Dan Mettlach has been named the new Head Coach of the Huskies, effective immediately.

Four Michigan Tech players were recognized All-GLIAC for the 2022 football season by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, announced Thursday (Nov. 17). They include sophomore wide receiver Darius Willis (First Team Offense), senior center Hayden Huttula (First Team Offense), sophomore linebacker Marc Sippel (First Team Defense), and senior defensive back Braxton Blackwell (Second Team Defense). In addition, Austin Schlicht, Will Ark, Brandon Michalak, Josh Cribben, and Hunter Buechel were named honorable mentions.

Derrick Hinton Jr. caught 13 passes for 203 yards and one touchdown to help Saginaw Valley State over Michigan Tech 35-30 Saturday afternoon at Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium. The Huskies finished fifth in the GLIAC Standings with a 2-4 record, 4-7 overall.

Michigan Tech meets Saginaw Valley State in the final week of the regular season Saturday, November 12 at 1 p.m. at Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium. The Huskies aim to spoil SVSU’s senior day and avenge a loss in week four to the Cardinals in Houghton.

Ethan Champney caught a career-high three touchdown passes and Darius Willis caught 10 passes for 150 yards from quarterback Will Ark as Michigan Tech escaped with its fourth straight victory over Hillsdale College 28-24 Saturday afternoon at windy Frank Waters Stadium.

After suffering a loss to the top team in the nation on Senior Day, Michigan Tech football sets its sights on picking up a fourth straight win against Hillsdale College on Saturday, November 5 at 1 p.m. The Huskies are in search of their first road victory and defeated the Chargers in Houghton to open last season 14-10. Michigan Tech football welcomes top-ranked Grand Valley State to Kearly Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day and Tadych’s Kids Day. The Huskies enter the week 2-2 in conference play and return home following a 28-20 loss to No. 7 Ferris State at Top Taggart Field. Prior to kickoff, 23 graduating student-athletes will be honored on the field, including four-year starting quarterback Will Ark. Tech will be back on the road to finish the 2022 regular season at Hillsdale and No. 23 Saginaw Valley State in the first two weeks of November.

Michigan Tech led at halftime against the defending Division II national champions but fell short to No. 7 Ferris State 28-20 Saturday afternoon at Top Taggart Field. The Huskies made just their second trip to Big Rapids in seven years. Carson Gulker's three rushing touchdowns at quarterback were enough to lift Ferris State to a 6-1 overall record (3-1 GLIAC). Michigan Tech fell to 3-5 (2-2 GLIAC).

Sophomore Darius Willis pulled down two touchdown catches, and the Husky defense limited Northern Michigan to 220 yards of total offense to help Michigan Tech to its 12th straight Miner's Cup victory Saturday afternoon at chilly Kearly Stadium in GLIAC football.
