Michigan Tech Football Supports The Tate Myre Foundation

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Mourning the tragedy that occurred at Oxford High School on November 30, 2021, Michigan Tech Football encourages all who are able to consider donating to 42 Strong, a mentorship program created in memory of Tate Myre, one of four victims of the school shooting that occurred on that day in Oxford, Michigan. Its mission is to create a better future by helping students develop a greater sense of purpose, community, and resilience.

"Not only was Tate an incredible athlete, he was kind-hearted, had a passion for helping others, and was looked up to by many," said Michigan Tech freshman Austin Schlicht, Oxford football alumnus, and Myre Family Friend. "His insane athletic abilities did not appear overnight. He was one of the most hardworking and dedicated individuals I have ever known and was a true leader on and off the field. From our Michigan Tech football family to yours, please consider donating to 42 Strong, to let his legacy live on forever."

Husky players and members of the coaching staff have donated money this week to 42 Strong and remain committed to supporting Tate Myre's family and friends through this tragedy.
