Vieau Named Bill Hauser Memorial Award Recipient

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech head football coach Tom Kearly has named offensive lineman Joe Vieau the recipient of the Bill Hauser Memorial Award, which is given annually to the team's outstanding spring player.

Vieau, a native of Midland, Michigan, was a leader throughout the team workouts and served as a captain at the 2016 Tech football spring game.

"Joe put a lot of effort into both our winter strength and conditioning workouts and spring ball," said Kearly. "His dedication and work ethic was outstanding and, as a senior, he showed great leadership by helping to bring along the young people on our team."

Vieau, who will begin his senior season in the fall, appeared in nine games for the Huskies in 2015 and helped Tech compile a 7-3 overall record.

Michigan Tech opens its 2016 football schedule at Sherman Field on Sept. 3 against Walsh.
