To achieve our mission to be the best academic-and-athletic performing NCAA Ski Team in the nation we need your fundraising help!

The “Championship Team Fundraiser” will provide the MTU Nordic Ski Team with three athletic resources that will improve our athletic programming and competitive success including ski ergometers, a ski camber flex test machine, and team race skis! 

Target fundraising amount = $5,000. 

MATCH CHALLENGE GRANT!: An anonymous alumnus has generously committed to matching $2,500 toward the Championship Team Fundraiser! Help us raise $2,500 to release $2,500 in matching funds through this challenge grant!

What will the Championship Team Fundraiser contribute to the Nordic Huskies?: 

Two Ski Ergometers ($2,000)

The addition of two ski ergs for team training purposes including performance testing, supplemental training, and during inclement weather (i.e. extreme cold winter temperatures) when we are not able to train outside. We currently have one team ski erg generously donated this past season by alum Sarah & David Joda! 

Ski Camber Flex Test Machine ($1,500)

A ski camber flex test machine measures the camber flex on classic skis to determine kick zones. Currently, our student-athletes determine their kick zones by waxing their skis at different lengths and with different kick layers in all conditions to guesstimate the kick zone or camber flex of their skis. By using a ski camber flex test machine we take out all the guesswork in finding ski kick zones, and ensure our student-athletes have the most accurate measure of their kick zones which will be a huge competitive advantage! Only a few teams and a few major regional suppliers currently have these machines nationally, and adding this to our team equipment will give our team a great race service advantage! Graduate Assistant Coach Eric Houck will apply his master's education in mechatronics building this ski camber flex test machine for the team, with assistance from local alumni and engineer Craig Hughes! In addition, WE WILL OFFER TO FLEX TEST CLASSIC SKIS FOR ALL DONORS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM FUNDRAISER!

Team Race Skis ($1,500)

Race skis are downright expensive, and all of our student-athletes have to purchase their own race skis for competition. Our goal with this fundraiser is to purchase team race skis that our student-athletes will be able to use and share as they compete for the MTU Nordic Ski Team!
