HOCKEY
No. 20 Michigan Tech opened the 2022-23 season with a 5-2 win over Lake Superior State in exhibition action Saturday at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Logan Ganie scored twice while Chris Lipe, Ryan O'Connell, and Kyle Kukkonen also found the back of the net. Blake Pietila made 23 saves. Tech returns to the MacInnes Student Ice Arena for another exhibition game on Monday, hosting Lakehead University. The puck drops at 6:07 p.m. The Huskies then travel downstate to begin the regular season at Ferris State on Friday and then play at the US National Team Development Program on Saturday in exhibition action.

CROSS COUNTRY
Michigan Tech travels to the Lewis Crossover for a morning race on Saturday at the Lewis Cross Country Course in Romeoville, Illinois.  The men's team is ranked No. 15 in the nation and the women's squad is No. 30.

VOLLEYBALL
The Huskies wrapped up a five-match road trip with a weekend split. Tech swept Lake Superior State Friday to defeat the Lakers for the 24th straight time. Ferris State won 3-1 over Tech on Saturday. Makena Wesol (3.14 k/s) led the offense while Lina Espejo-Ramirez (9.57 a/s) set the attack, and Carissa Beyer (4.71 d/s) led the defense. Tech is now 10-6 overall and 4-5 in the GLIAC. The Huskies return to the SDC Gym this weekend, hosting Saginaw Valley State Friday and Wayne State Saturday.

FOOTBALL
Tech football fell 52-35 at Davenport on Saturday. Will Ark had a pair of touchdown runs and a pair of touchdown passes. Darius Willis caught one in the first quarter on a 26-yard grab and Brandon Michalak scored on a 69-yard catch in the third. Alec Moriarty also found the endzone, and Drew Wyble nailed a 31-yard field goal. Michael Bates Jr. led the defense with nine tackles. The Huskies return home on Saturday for Homecoming, hosting Wayne State. The weekend features a special celebration commemorating 100 years of Michigan Tech football. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Kearly Stadium.

SOCCER
The Huskies and No. 22 Northern Michigan fought to a scoreless tie Friday at the Superior Dome. Tech is 3-5-3 overall and 1-3-3 in the GLIAC and opens a four-game homestand against No. 6 Grand Valley State on Friday and Davenport on Sunday.
