HOCKEY
Tech swept Northern Michigan in the first round of the WCHA Playoffs to advance to the WCHA Semifinals at Minnesota State. The Huskies defeated the Wildcats 4-1 Friday and 4-3 in triple overtime Saturday. Tommy Parrottino had a natural hat trick Friday with Alex Smith scoring the first goal. Logan Pietila ended the second-longest game in Tech history Saturday 4:41 into the third overtime. Logan Ganie had a pair of goals and Parrottino netted his fourth of the weekend. Matt Jurusik had 34 saves Friday and a season-high 43 saves Saturday. The sixth-seeded Huskies will travel to the WCHA'S top seed and nation's third-ranked Mavericks. The puck drops at 8:07 p.m. Friday, 7:07 p.m. Saturday and if necessary 6:07 p.m. Sunday. Fans looking for tickets should contact the SDC Ticket Office at 906-487-2073.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies won the GLIAC Tournament Championship Sunday with a 68-57 victory over Northwood. Tech received the GLIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and is the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Regional and will play No. 5 Bellarmine at No. 1 seed Indianapolis on Saturday. The Huskies started the week with a 75-56 win over Saginaw Valley State in the quarterfinal on Tuesday and then beat Grand Valley State 69-53 in the semifinals on Saturday. Kyle Monroe was named GLIAC Player of the Year and Kevin Luke received Coach of the Year honors. Monroe and Dawson Bilski were named All-GLIAC First Team and Owen White added Second Team honors.

NORDIC SKIING
Michigan Tech will be represented at the NCAA Championships by Reid Goble, Patrick Acton, Aleksi Leino, Sarah Goble, Amanda Kautzer, and Oda Hovland. This year's championship is in Bozeman, Montana with the skate race on Thursday and the classic race on Saturday. Both races will begin at Noon with a free video stream on NCAA.com. A full preview will be posted later in the week.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech's 2019-20 season came to an end in the GLIAC Quarterfinals with a 65-34 loss to Grand Valley State on Tuesday. Ellie Mackay and Cassidy Trotter were named the All-GLIAC Second Team. Seniors Abbie Botz, Hanna Hobson, Michelle LaFave, and Ellie Welsh wrapped up their Tech careers.

TENNIS
Both the men's and women's teams fell 4-3 against Salem on Saturday to begin their spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Huskies play all week in Hilton Head with the teams combining for 10 matches during the trip.
