HOCKEY
No. 19 Michigan Tech team fell Friday and tied Saturday at Bemidji State. The Beavers won 4-1 Friday and the two teams tied 1-1 Saturday at the Sanford Center. BSU scored in the 3-on-3 overtime to earn the extra WCHA point in Game 2. Alec Broetzman scored both goals on the weekend for the Huskies. Tech returns home this weekend for the final home series of the month, hosting Ferris State. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday. There will be Skate with the Huskies following Saturday's game.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies had a pair of commanding victories at the SDC Gym, defeating Lake Superior State 102-81 Thursday and No. 8 Ferris State 102-90 Saturday. Five different Huskies averaged double figures led by Dawson Bilski's 25 and Kyle Monroe's 22. Isaac Appleby (14), Trent Bell (13.5), and Tommy Lucca (12) also found their scoring touch. Tech improved to 13-4 overall and 7-2 in the GLIAC and travels to Grand Valley State Thursday and Davenport Saturday.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech split its weekend at the SDC Gym, defeating Lake Superior State 62-52 Thursday and falling in overtime to Ferris State 80-73 Saturday. Abbie Botz had a double-double both nights, averaging 16 rebounds and 15.5 points per game. Cassity Trotter (15) also averaged in double figures. Hanna Hobson (12) and Ellie Mackay (15) scored a dozen points Saturday. Tech is 7-9 overall and 5-4 in the GLIAC and travels to Grand Valley State Thursday and Davenport Saturday.

NORDIC SKIING
The Huskies raced at the CCSA Mt. Itasca Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. Sarah Goble won Saturday's skate race and finished fifth Sunday in the classic. Henriette Semb placed fourth both days. Reid Goble placed third both days and Patrick Acton also had a top-five finish in Saturday's skate. The Huskies will race again on Sunday at the CCSA Gitchi Gamie Games in Cable, Wisconsin.



HUSKIES LEND A PAW

This year's community outreach initiative for Michigan Tech Athletics is the Huskies Lend a Paw to support Big Brothers Big Sisters - UP Kids. Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) seeks to change the lives of children facing adversity - for the better, forever. BBBS programs help children realize their full potential and build their futures by providing strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships.
