HOCKEY
The Huskies split the first WCHA road series of the season at No. 17 Bowling Green. The Falcons won 3-1 Friday and the Huskies won 4-2 Saturday. Tommy Parrottino had a natural hat trick Saturday. Trenton Bliss scored Friday, and Parker Saretsky added a goal Saturday. Matt Jurusik had 23 saves Friday, and Robbie Beydoun stopped 25 shots Saturday. The Huskies travel to No. 16 North Dakota this weekend for the US Hockey Hall of Fame Game on Saturday. It will be the second time in three years Tech will play in the game and the first meeting with North Dakota since the 2012-13 season.

VOLLEYBALL
The No. 22-ranked volleyball team swept its weekend against GLIAC South Division opponents. The Huskies swept Parkside Friday and Purdue Northwest Saturday. MacAulay Petersen (20 kills) and Anna Jonynas (16 kills) led the offense with Petersen averaging 3.33 kills per set. Laura De Marchi averaged 9 assists per set, totaling 45 assists on the weekend. Megan Utlak (43 digs), De Marchi (20 digs), and Emilia Widen (4 blocks) led the defense. The Huskies wrap up their six-match road trip at Northern Michigan on Saturday at Vandament Arena.

CROSS COUNTRY
The Huskies raced at the 2019 GLIAC Championships Saturday in Indiana. The men's team placed second and the women's team finished third. Braden Reichl (4th), Matt Pahl (5th), Clayton Sayen (9th), and Emily Byrd (8th) all earned All-GLIAC First Team Honors. Brendan Klynstra (18th) and Gabrielle Feber (18th) earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors. Tech now turns its focus to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship on November 9 in Evansville, Indiana.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
The Huskies finished third at the GLIAC Championships in Midland. Tech swept Saginaw Valley State Friday in the first round before falling to Grand Valley State in the semifinals Saturday. The tournament wrapped up Sunday with a sweep of Northwood. Dominika Bobik was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year. Ivona Gorgioski, Jessica Brown, and Bobik were all named to the All-GLIAC First Team. Lauren Opalewski was named GLIAC Honorable Mention.

FOOTBALL
Tech football fell 21-12 at Ashland Saturday in Ohio. The Huskies scored a pair of second-half touchdowns to get within striking distance. Jared Smith had a 16-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Steele Fortress scored on an 8-yard run to the endzone in the fourth. Marshael Ryan led the defense with 10 tackles. The Huskies return home next weekend against No. 2 Ferris State. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Kearly Stadium.

SOCCER
Tech soccer wrapped up its five-game homestand with a pair of losses at Kearly Stadium. No. 14 Ashland won 4-1 Friday and Saginaw Valley State won 2-1 in overtime Sunday. Gabby Sgambati scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season Friday. Jesse Jacobusse buried her third of the season Sunday. Gracie VanLangevelde had three saves against the Eagles, and Amanda Young had seven saves versus the Cardinals. Tech hits the road for the final three games of the regular season, starting at Parkside and Purdue Northwest this weekend.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies tipped off the 2019-20 season at NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay in an exhibition game on Thursday. The Huskies held their own against one of the top teams in Division I, holding the Phoenix to just 54 points in a 54-41 loss. Baillie McGirk (11 points), Ellie Mackay (9 points), and Hanna Hobson (8 points) led the offense. Tech will host Finlandia Friday at the SDC Gym in another exhibition before the regular season gets underway on November 9.
