William G. Lucier

William G. (Bill) Lucier was appointed assistant football and assistant hockey coach at Michigan Tech in 1957. He was the first fulltime assistant hockey coach at the Univeristy. Lucier participated in seven NCAA national hockey championships - four as a player at the University of Michigan, and three as an assistant coach at Michigan Tech. These seven championships represent five first place finishes, one second and one third.

Lucier, a versatile athlete, became Michigan Tech's head football coach in 1963. He was selected as the Michigan Associated Press Small College Coach of the Year in 1963 and was the Northern Intercollegiate Conference Coach of the Year in 1963 and 1965. His teams won two conference titles in his six years as head coach.
