Omer LaJeunesse
Inducted August 3, 1985

Omer LaJeunesse served as head football coach at Michigan Tech from 1957 to 1962 and won the 1959 Northern States College Conference football championship during his time. He also served as swimming coach for 15 years and had coaching stints with the softball and track teams as well. LaJeunesse served as president of the U.P. Coaches Association in 1949 and was named professor emeritus of physical education at the University in 1973.

A native of Iron Mountain, Michigan, LaJeunesse played on the 1930 and 1931 Big Ten championship football teams at the University of Michigan and was chosen Big Ten Guard of the Year in 1931. After receiving his masters degree, he became a high school administrator and coach serving at Hillsdale, Battle Creek Central, and Iron Mountain high schools over a 22-year span. He joined Michigan Tech in 1954 as as assistant football coach.
