Mary Kaminski
Inducted November 3, 2001

During a stellar 13-year career as the head women’s volleyball coach at Michigan Tech, Mary Kaminski took the Huskies to new heights. She built the program from a second-division team in the GLIAC to a national power. Under her leadership, the Huskies advanced to the NCAA Tournament four times (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996) and won the school’s only GLIAC title in 1994.

Kaminski, who was named the NCAA Division II Coach of the Year in 1994 after leading the Huskies to a school-record 30-3 mark, finished her MTU career with a 258-204 record. The Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year and a two-time GLIAC Coach of the Year (1993, 1994), Kaminski had a 112-86 career mark in GLIAC matches.

During her coaching tenure at MTU, she was also active in advancing volleyball in the community. Kaminski was a catalyst in getting girls high school volleyball programs started and also provided the momentum that has resulted in most of the sand volleyball courts in the area.

Mary is now the head women's volleyball coach at Finlandia University.
