K. Ross Johnson
Inducted October 30, 2004

A professor of electrical engineering at Michigan Tech from 1957-87, K. Ross Johnson played a critical role in the Michigan Tech athletic program for parts of three decades. He volunteered to be the University’s Faculty Representative for Athletics for 21 years (1966-87) and took on many roles in that capacity.

One of Johnson’s biggest endeavors was handling all compliance issues for the athletic program during his tenure. In addition, he chaired the Michigan Tech Athletic Council from 1965-87 and represented the Huskies at major conference meetings.

Johnson earned the Western Collegiate Hockey’s Association’s Distinguished Service Award and the Northern Intercollegiate Conference Service Award prior to his retirement.

K. Ross Johnson passed away on November 6, 2011.
