John Benaglio

John Benaglio played football at Tech from 1966-69. He was a four-year starter at linebacker and two-time team captain. He earned the Fred Baird Memorial Award as the team’s outstanding defensive player in 1968 and was the team’s most valuable player as a senior in 1969, when he tallied 83 tackles in nine games.
Benaglio was recently honored with MTU Board of Control Silver Medal and the Distinguished Alumni Award. He is a regular contributor to the football program and was a key participant in the Football Leadership Campaign in 2003.
Benaglio retired as the CEO of Heitkamp and Thumann Group on December 31, 2013.
