Gerald P. LaJeunesse
Inducted October 30, 1993

Jerry LaJeunesse was an outstanding football player for the Huskies during a time when athletes could (and did) play both offense and defense.

He earned four letters in an MTU uniform (1967-1970) and gained All-Northern Intercollegiate Conference honors three times.

LaJeunesse was also named the team's most valuable player twice and was one of three tri-captains during the 1970 campaign. In 1970 he was also team MVP and the recipient of the Glen Galligan Award as the NIC's Outstanding Senior Athlete.

In addition, LaJeunesse earned two varsity letters in tennis during his time at MTU.

He left Michigan Tech in 1971 to complete his teaching degree at Northern Michigan University.

LaJeunesse currently teaches at Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where he serves as head baseball coach. He is also the defensive coordinatior for the football team, a position he has held for the past 20 years.

His father, Omer LaJeunesse, was inducted into the MTU Sports Hall of Fame in 1985.
