Brandon Schmidt begins his third full year with Husky volleyball in 2015. The Appleton, Wis., native is entering his third year as an undergraduate at Michigan Tech.

In May of 2014, Schmidt was officially asked to join Coach Jennings' coaching staff and has since transitioned into a student assistant role. He is responsible for assisting with the running of drills in practice, home match management, statistics, film, and various other areas on a day to day basis.

Schmidt's time with the team began as a practice player in the spring of 2013. He continued in that role through the year, both during the regular season and spring training sessions.

Schmidt is himself an avid and talented volleyball player. He came to Tech after a stellar prep experience in the Appleton area. He played club for the Wisconsin Volleyball Academy while earning all-conference recognition as an impact player at Kaukauna High School.

With the skill set and athleticism to play multiple positions (OH, RS, S, and MB), Schmidt has established himself as a leader and standout on the Michigan Tech Men's Club Volleyball Team. Schmidt has been a key component to the team's recent success in both regional competition and at the NCVF National Collegiate Club-Volleyball Championships. After spending a year as the club's Secretary, he now serves as the program's President.

An excellent student, Schmidt is working towards his degree in Chemical Engineering, and currently carries a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
