Ghormley Earns Google Cloud Division II Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Michigan Tech volleyball player Olivia Ghormley has been named to the Google Cloud Academic Division II All-District Volleyball First Team. The Google Cloud Academic All-District Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

A sophomore outside hitter from Oneida, Wisconsin, Ghormley was named GLIAC Attacker of the Year, All-GLIAC First Team, and D2CCA Second Team All-Midwest Region after scoring 510 kills and averaging 4.64 kills per set. A three-time GLIAC North Division Player of the Week selection, Ghormley finished with double-digit kills in 27 matches this season and recorded over 20 kills seven times in 2018. In the classroom, Ghormley holds a GPA of 3.47 as a Biological Sciences major.

Ghormley is now eligible to be named a Google Cloud Academic All-American. Voting will begin on Tuesday (Nov. 20). For the complete list of Academic All-District honorees, click here.
