A total of 105 Michigan Tech student-athletes earned recognition from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for academics as the league announced its Fall Academic Excellence Awards and All-Academics Teams.

Jonynas Named Team MVP As Michigan Tech Volleyball Announces Team Awards

The Michigan Tech volleyball team announced their 2018 team award recipients as well as their 2019 team captains on Friday. Anna Jonynas was named the Team MVP, while MacAulay Petersen received the Harold Meese Sportsmanship Award, Megan Utlak received the Digger Award, and Kristine Fink was named Most Improved Player. Utlak and Laura DeMarchi will join Petersen as captains for the 2019 season.
Huskies Add Two for 2019 Season with Radtke and Kuizenga

Head coach Matt Jennings and the Michigan Tech volleyball program have announced the addition of two new players to the squad for the 2019 season. Jillian Kuizenga (St. Charles, Ill.) and Morgan Radtke (Elk Mound, Wis.) have both signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Michigan Tech.

Michigan Tech volleyball players Laura DeMarchi and Olivia Ghormley have been named All-Midwest Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday. DeMarchi and Ghormley become the 17th and 18th Michigan Tech players to receive All-Region honors, and the first since Jen Jung and Veronica Armstrong back in 2008.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

The No. 5 seed Michigan Tech volleyball team sees their season come to an end as they fall 3-0 (16-25, 17-25, 20-25) to No. 4 seed Lewis in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament inside the O’Reilly Family Event Center on the campus of Drury University. Michigan Tech ends its 2018 season with a record of 23-7.

The Huskies and Flyers will battle it out on Thursday (Nov. 15) from inside the O'Reilly Center on the campus of Drury University, the region's top seed.
