Huskies Ranked 7th in ITA Midwest Region Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Michigan Tech women's tennis team is ranked seventh in the ITA NCAA Division II Midwest Region Poll, announced earlier this week by the national office. The Huskies join two other GLIAC teams in the ranking, which include Wayne State at No. 3 and Grand Valley State at No. 5.

The Huskies are currently 9-3 on the season and finished with a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record of 7-2 during the fall. Tech was the No. 3 seed in the GLIAC tournament and advanced to the semifinals. The Huskies fell to Grand Valley State in that contest, but bounced back to defeat Northwood 4-0 in the third-place match. The top seven teams in the final ITA Midwest Regional Ranking advance to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament.

The Huskies will be back on the court for the spring season beginning in late February when they travel to Hillsdale College on the 23rd. Tech then heads south for the annual Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, S.C March 6-14 before wrapping up spring regular season matches at NCAA Division I Wisconsin-Green Bay on April 11.
