Gorgioski Signs NLI to Play Tennis at Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech women's tennis coach Kevin Kalinec announced that Ivona Gorgioski has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the program in the fall of 2017. Gorgioski is a 3-star recruit and the No. 6-ranked player from Michigan, hailing from Royal Oak.

"Ivona will be a player who can contribute immediately and add strength near the top of our lineup after losing Kwang to graduation," Kalinec said. "We've made very good strides this year, and Ivona will help us continue that trend over the next four years. She will be a great fit for our team both athletically and academically."

Gorgioski is ranked No. 22 in the Great Lakes Region that includes Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. She was a state semifinalist in the No. 1 singles flight as a junior last year.

Gorgioski played No. 1 singles as a freshman and junior at Royal Oak High School and has a 33-4 overall record entering her senior campaign. She will play No. 1 singles again this year.
