BAY CITY, Mich. — Michigan Tech women's tennis players Kwang Suthijindawong (Bangkok, Thailand) and Sandra Cvetanovic (Johannesburg, South Africa) were named Co-GLIAC Players of the Week today after combining to win the USTA/ITA Midwest Region Championship in doubles last weekend.

The Huskies pair won the title with an 8-6 victory over Wayne State's Yahsha Moore and Anne Li Briand in the final. Suthijindawong also made the final in singles, but finished as the ITA Midwest Region Runner-Up.

As regional champions, Suthijindawong and Cvetanovic will advance to the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships Oct. 9-12 in Sumter, South Carolina.

The doubles pair is the first from Michigan Tech to win the regional.

Suthijindawong has now been named GLIAC Player of the Week three times in four weeks this season.

Tech travels to Wayne State and Hillsdale for GLIAC dual matches this week.
